Guest Mignon Fogarty is the host of the popular podcast Grammar Girl, in which she answers her listeners' burning grammar questions and reveals the fascinating history of the English language.

Mignon is also the author of seven books, including the NYT’s bestseller, Grammar Girl’s Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing, and founder the Quick and Dirty Tips network.

On the podcast, we geek out about such topics as:

  • Adverbs yay or nay,

  • The word “however,”

  • The proper use of “myself”

  • The strange history of Webster’s dictionary.

In an epic swap, Mignon also had me on her own podcast, Grammar Girl to talk to me about

  • How to do a really good interview

  • The tools every writer needs

  • My life as an advice columnist

You can find that podcast here.
